Lifesaving Club Members Come Together for an Exciting Start to the New Season

On Sunday, November 10th, Royal Life Saving Club Members gathered at the Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre for the official launch of the 2024/25 Pool Lifesaving Season. With sunny weather and a fantastic venue, it was the perfect day for clubs from across Greater Sydney to come together, refresh their skills, and gear up for the busy season ahead.

The day began with a dynamic NSW State Team training session, led by State Team Coach Ethan Garland, to help athletes prepare for the upcoming Australian Pool Lifesaving Championships early next year. It was a great opportunity for everyone to get back in the water as a team and refine their skills, so that they’re in top form for the Championships.

Following the State Team Session, an additional pool lifesaving clinic was held, offering members of all abilities the chance to learn some new techniques and receive some helpful tips to improve their performance. A special thank you to Ethan Garland for leading the training for the senior group, and to Bruce Horlyck for running the skills clinic for the juniors. Royal Life Saving NSW would also extend our thanks to the fantastic staff at Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre, who were a great help to ensure that the event ran smoothly from start to finish.

After the session, members enjoyed a well-deserved lunch and a few briefs, welcoming everyone to the new season. It was a great chance for everyone to come together and connect, sharing excitement and anticipation for the months ahead.

With the season now underway, we are all looking forward to what promises to be another exciting year of pool lifesaving competition!
