Over the past two and a half years, we have been committed to developing leadership in aquatic environments through our specialised training programs. Since launching in June 2022, we have delivered five courses, helping 54 individuals enhance their skills and become effective aquatic leaders.
Our programs bring together a diverse group of participants, including professionals from various backgrounds. Notably, 10 participants have recently completed one of our training sessions, including four Royal Life Saving staff members.
Several recent participants shared valuable feedback about the program, highlighting the tools and strategies they’ve learned and how they have applied them in their roles. Some of the things they found beneficial in the program include:
“Learning about the DISC profiling system and how I can better manage myself and others. It was great not only learning from the facilitator but also from others in the room. All of the activities were really useful and beneficial.”
“Help in developing new management strategies.”
“Understanding management decisions and how organisational structures work.”
Additionally, participants noted they learned the importance of “giving more praise instead of just focusing on the negatives,” "using the company’s vision and values to motivate the team and provide direction,” and “the difference between management and leadership, and how to successfully balance both.”
